Some issues with the site. Some resolved, some upcoming changes and some we just cant seem to fix. Details on the RPG, why its gone and how you can help a novice set up a forum-based RPG. Please read so you know what's up and what not to use!
A few small changes have taken place or may soon be implemented. Template Problems Fixed As the site is new, there are still bugs no one bothers to report. I found several huge template problems when I had a co-worker look at the site and he used Firefox. As I use IE7 exclusively, I had no idea how FUBAR the main template was. The menu was in the wrong place. There was a huge black section through thee middle of the header. Once I was alterted to them, the problems were fixed. Please use the Report a Bug option under Contact Us. Your email will go directly to me. Thanks in advance for your help in improving the site. Sidebar Issue Fixed Another problem I found and fixed was the issue of the sidebar being pushed far down the page on certain pages. Also, in the members area, the bottom modules were appearing where the sidebar should have been in Firefox. All fixed. FUBAR Member Links in Sidebar One problem I cant seem to fix, my web host, Dominick, can't fix and multiple help forum posts cant fix is the member profile showing up in the middle of the home page when you click on a linked member in the sidebar. Until this is remedied, please go through the member list to view a profile. Image Scroller Gone from Homepage I loved the image scroller but, in the interest of faster loading times, I removed it. Probable Slideshow Removal Also in the interest of faster loading times, I have noticed the slideshow (which I also love) lags as the page loads. We all want the page to pop right up, so it is very likely I will remove the slideshow and display only one graphic. I would choose the Harry Potter graphic, at least for now. The other graphics may show up on their respective pages. We'll see. Certain Links under "Sections" FUBAR I fixed most of the links in the Sections module at the bottom of the page, but there are a couple that were a little more stubborn and insist on displaying in a really messed up blog format. I will need enlist help to fix the two that are left. Unfortunately, I hink one of them is Potter News. However, it is easily accessible throught the news center link at the top of the page or in the sidebar on all HPAGU pages. Spookatropolis RPG GONE! There is a very good reason for this. Two, actually. First, we couldnt get it to work right. Second, we were hacked through the component. The offender placed malicious files throughout the site, forum and archive files on our server and sent thousands of fraudulent spam emails. Therefore, the program is gone. However, if someone out there knows how to set up a forum-based RPG I would be more than happy to install a forum component for it. I've always wanted an RPG, not for myself but for our visitors. I know everyone loves an RPG. |
